Sibelius - Violin Concerto

The Violin Concerto in D minor, Op. 47, was written in 1904, revised in 1905, by Finnish composer Jean Sibelius (1865 - 1957). It is his only concerto. It is symphonic in scope, with the solo violin and all sections of the orchestra being equal voices. The work is traditionally in three movements and the average playing time is 32 minutes (AllMusic). I have three versions, including one of the 1904 version, and have a preference for Shlomo Mintz and  the Berlin Philharmonic under James Levine on a Deutsche Grammophon CD.
