Mozart - Clarinet Concerto

The Clarinet Concerto in A major, KV622, was completed in 1791 by Austrian composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (1756 - 1791). It was the first clarinet concerto by a major composer, and arguably still the most popular - it is certainly my personal favourite, possibly even my favourite concerto regardless of instrument. My mother was particularly fond of the Adagio second movement, and we had it played at her funeral in 1992. The work is in the traditional three movements, and the average playing time is 29 minutes (AllMusic). My version is by Alfred Prinz and the Vienna Philharmonic under Karl Böhm on a Deutsche Grammophon CD.
